On 1 July 2002 Wilson & Horton Newspapers purchased the Wairarapa Times-Age, adding a ninth daily title to its regional newspaper division. W&H Newspapers publishes 40% of New Zealand's paid regional daily newspapers and also owns the country's main metropolitan title, the New Zealand Herald.
