Penguins!! Oamaru is the place to see little Blue and Yellow Eyed Penguins. Both colonies are within easy walking distance from the hostel. Oamaru has a magnificent collection of Victorian era white stone buildings, including a museum, art gallery, cafs and pubs. Victorian market and steam train rides on Sundays.
